New Research Capacity Building Content on acadeME®
AAPM&R is now offering online content to assist in its unified efforts to build research capacity for the specialty. The content is free to Academy members and residents.
As part of its Research Capacity Building Initiative, the Foundation for PM&R enlisted Leighton Chan, MD, MPH, and Michael Boninger, MD (coordinated by Walter Frontera, MD, PhD), as lead authors on a two-part white paper titled “Best Practices for Building a Successful Physiatric Research Center in an Academic Medical Center” (Am J Phys Med Rehab 2009: 88; 659-66). According to Dr. Chan, “These papers outline challenges that departments face in expanding rehabilitation research and highlight how successful programs overcome these barriers.”
The contents of the papers, including case studies, were developed into a workshop offered at the AAPM&R 2009 Annual Assembly in Austin, TX. AAPM&R has captured these sessions from the Assembly and is now offering this valuable educational material free of charge to Academy members and residents on acadeME®. Discover the expert team's recommendations for developing physiatric research capacity at your own pace from your desktop. Locate these research-focused sessions today: Visit ME at www.me.aapmr.org and click “What's New.”
